Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Finance & Accounting Intern to contribute to hospital financial operations. The role supports general ledger activities, reporting, and budgeting tasks within a large healthcare network.

The position requires at least a high school diploma and/or an Associate's degree in accounting or related field, with a preference for accounting-specific credentials. On-site hours are 8:00–4:30, PRN, with no weekend work.

Qualifications

• 5 years in a related field or an Associate's Degree in lieu of experience.
• High School or Equivalent; Preferred: Associates - Accounting; Or – Associates - Related field in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain control of assigned general ledger accounts and hospital statistics.
• Prepare statistical reports and analyze general ledger activity.
• Reconcile the hospital's bank accounts.
• Prepare audit paperwork and schedules.
• Assist in preparing the annual operating budgets, manage the hospital's petty cash account.
• Responsible for sales tax returns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
