Job summary

BayCare Health System invites a Financial Specialist to lead financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning across large clinical and business service lines. The role acts as the primary financial representative, delivering strategic insights and guiding financial processes with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

Based in the Tampa Bay area with a hybrid work arrangement, this full-time position reports to organizational leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8 years of Accounting and Financial Analysis experience; or
• CPA certification with 6 years of Accounting and Financial Analysis experience; or
• Master's degree with 6 years of Accounting and Financial Analysis experience.
• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the financial representative for assigned clinical and business service lines.
• Lead and improve financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting processes.
• Support capital planning and capital asset management initiatives.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
• Lead complex projects that support organizational priorities and objectives.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial information.
• Mentor colleagues and build partnerships with leaders and stakeholders at all levels.

Position Summary

The Financial Specialist assumes a leadership role within their area of expertise and collaborates with leaders across all levels of the organization. This role serves as the primary financial representative for large, complex clinical and business service lines, providing advanced financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning support.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the financial representative for assigned clinical and business service lines.
• Lead and improve financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting processes.
• Support capital planning and capital asset management initiatives.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
• Lead complex projects that support organizational priorities and objectives.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial information.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to colleagues across the organization.
• Build effective partnerships with leaders and stakeholders at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 8 years of Accounting experience and Financial Analysis experience; or
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA certification , and 6 years of Accounting experience and Financial Analysis experience; or
• Master's degree in a related field and 6 years of Accounting experience and Financial Analysis experience.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field

Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following combinations:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 8 years of Accounting experience and Financial Analysis experience; or
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA certification , and 6 years of Accounting experience and Financial Analysis experience; or
• Master's degree in a related field and 6 years of Accounting experience and Financial Analysis experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Minimum of 4 years of healthcare finance experience
