Job summary

City Utilities seeks an accounting-oriented student intern to support the Financial Reporting team. You will perform journal entries, asset-related tasks in PeopleSoft, and maintain asset records with accuracy and confidentiality.

Position requires enrollment as a full-time student, with 12+ credits (undergrad) or 6+ (grad), and a total calendar-year cap of 1,500 hours. Office software and data tools experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least one year of college in Accounting/Finance/Business.
• Must be pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum three accounting credits required; six months of accounting or general office work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries and documentation for asset management, write-offs, reimbursements, and related transactions.
• Process fixed asset capitalization in PeopleSoft for approved projects.
• Maintain asset records, including transfers and relationships in related systems.
• Assist with schedules for software subscriptions and IT arrangements (SaaS/SBITA).
• Analyze transactions, prepare supporting information, and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in monthly financial report preparation and management presentations.
