Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking a motivated accounting intern who is currently pursuing a degree in Accounting to join our finance team. This role offers hands-on exposure to core accounting tasks in a supportive, career‑oriented environment.

You will assist in account reconciliations and journal entries, manage balance sheet fluctuation analysis, support the close process and external audits, and help with ERP implementation projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting.
• Strong analytical skills, pays close attention to detail, and good communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Manage and complete balance sheet fluctuation analysis.
• Help with business unit accounting close process.
• Support financial statement audit by the external auditors.
• Support other special projects as needed to support the company’s ERP implementation.
