Job summary

HR Services Brand is seeking a detail-oriented Fabric Inspector to join our quality control team. You will review standard and production swatches, inspect rolls for defects, and ensure first quality output for each batch.

You will handle inspection frames, measure yardage, and operate tools such as scissors, tape measures, and barcode labeling equipment while maintaining safety standards and reporting any unsafe conditions to supervision.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of inspection and proficiency in the operation and use of inspection tools such as frame, scissors, yardage meter, hoist sewing machine, air hose, production tickets, printed barcode labels, tape measure, doff table, pens, brooms, masking, two-way and colored tapes.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect cloth according to defined standards and flag seams, defects, and quality issues as required.
  • Wind straight rolls without telescoping and return to proper location.
  • Doff full tubes and properly identify with tickets; run additional tickets as needed.
  • On second quality rolls, cut a 1 yard full width defect sample for daily quality meeting and flag for customer review.
  • Obtain swatches for lab from every lot unless marked as “Testing Complete.”
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Assist with other duties as requested by supervisor.

Job description

  • Pulls standards or production swatch to use in grading and to insure correct identification and shade as necessary. Return to proper location after use.
  • Inspects cloth according to specified standards, flagging seams/splices, and cutting defects as required to make first quality rolls of fabric.
  • Winds straight rolls without telescoping.
  • Doffs full tube and properly identifies with ticket.
  • Runs additional tickets as necessary.
  • On second quality rolls, cuts out 1 yard full width example of defect for daily quality meeting. Flags for customer to identify as second quality.
  • Obtains swatch for lab from every lot of fabric, if not marked as “Testing Complete.”
  • Follows all safety procedures and policies and advises supervision of any unsafe conditions.
  • Any other duties as requested by supervisor.

  • Associate should possess general knowledge of inspection and show proficiency in the operation and proper use of inspection frame, scissors, yardage meter, hoist sewing machine, air hose, production tickets, printed barcode labels, tape measure, doff table, pens, brooms, masking, two-way and colored tapes.
