Job summary

BAE Systems in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Final Factory Test Engineer to join our team. Lead testing and debugging of complex electronics using TestStand and benchtop testers, acting as a subject matter expert in test methodologies.

Responsibilities include developing procedures, monitoring quality data, implementing cost-reducing design improvements, and coordinating with Engineering, Quality, and suppliers. Requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of overall engineering and manufacturing experience including NI-based TestStand measurement and test equipment.
• Demonstrate strong technical aptitude, communication skills, and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Problem solving capabilities and experience using metrics and data to drive actions.
• Proven track record of solving/troubleshooting production issues and driving yield improvements.

Responsibilities

• Test, measure, and troubleshoot complex electronic circuit card assemblies, systems, modules, and sub-assemblies using specialized equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain test equipment to ensure ongoing functionality.
• Generate and review test procedures, drawings, engineering specifications, reports, and change orders.
• Monitor quality data for trends and report to the team.
• Implement improvements in test design to reduce cost, increase yield, and improve throughput.
• Create rework plans for test non-conformances.
• Interface with Engineering, Quality, and other functions to drive defect resolution; interact with governmental customers and suppliers as required.
• Identify, create, and implement Engineering Change Orders as needed.
• Provide training and support to manufacturing personnel.
• Assist in relocation of test equipment between sites and transition to production.
