Fab2 in Austin, TX is hiring a Test Engineer to bridge hardware, software, and tooling across the company. You’ll design and execute test plans to improve tool design, then autonomously solve complex problems for positioning tools.

A portfolio of builds is encouraged to apply, illustrating hands-on testing and problem solving. In the role you will own end-to-end characterization, build tests from scratch, and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a test engineer or applications engineer.
• Ability to write code and create automated testing programs from scratch.
• Hands-on capability to build and run electrical tests.
• Strong mechanical intuition with a detail‑oriented mindset.
• Clear, fast verbal and written communication across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end characterization of tools and logging failures.
• Build software testing programs from scratch.
• Diagnose complex system errors with cross‑functional teams.
• Lead with concise written and verbal communication.
• Set timelines and ensure rigorous documentation and testing standards.
