New Way Trucks in Scranton, Iowa seeks a Final Assembly Mounting Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will work on final assembly of garbage trucks, mounting the truck to the chassis, and learning multiple mounting processes including hydraulics, wiring, and chassis prep.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure.
• Experience using hand and air tools is required.
• Familiarity with 12V DC wiring and hydraulic components.
• Ability to read work orders and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test own work for function and appearance.
• Operate equipment safely and report hazards to Safety/Maintenance.
• Keep a clean, orderly work area.
• Ensure finished product matches work orders and changes.
• Prepare chassis by installing brackets.
• Modify chassis frame to fit truck body.
• Mount and plumb hydraulic components.
• Install PTOs, hydraulic pumps, tanks, and filters.
• Crimp and route hoses.
• Route wiring harnesses through chassis to cab.
• Install cameras, scales, radar systems, and cab consoles.
