Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a production operator for our 24/7 dairy facility in Florida. You will safely operate gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment, follow SOPs, and perform routine quality checks and documentation.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, changeovers, CIP/SIP, and adherence to GMP and food safety standards. The role requires lift truck certification or the ability to obtain it, and strong teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in food manufacturing (dairy preferred).
• Food safety knowledge with acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, HACCP, SOP, GMP).
• Lift truck certification or ability to obtain one.
• Strong math and technical skills to operate controls and touch panels.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Good attendance and reliable work history.

How you will make contributions that matter

• Safe and efficient operation of production equipment to include: Gable-top carton filling and packaging equipment.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.
• Collect routine product samples and perform routine seal integrity testing to inspect the carton for leaks, tears and perform dye inspections for quality assurance.
• Set-up and use the appropriate gable-top cartons in accordance with the production run schedule.
• Set-up packaging coders, validate product codes in accordance with code specifications.
• Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions. Follow the established notification protocol.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments.
• Safe operation of a lift truck.
• Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
• Perform equipment change-overs, CIP/SIP, clean-up and equipment set-up.
• Perform environmental controls.
• Perform product reclaim and rework operations in accordance with reclaim guidelines.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
• Follow all established GMP’s and Food Safety requirements.
• Cross-train with other departments.
• Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
• Comply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.
• Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, actively apply the Saputo Company Values and Workplace Climate Policy.
• Work together with co-workers and other department personnel.
• Other duties as required by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications is a plus, but not required.
• A working understanding of food manufacturing acronyms (SQF, QA/QC, CQP, HACCP, SOP,5S, GMP, etc.).
• Lift truck certification or the ability to obtain a lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Truck).
• Strong math skills.
• Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
• Successful completion of drug screen and background check.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated work history.
• Good attendance is a must.

Physical Demands

Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift. Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures. Physical lifting up to 40-lbs frequently throughout the shift. Shift flexibility. This is a hands‑on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a 4-shift, 24/7 operation to support manufacturing. This can either be days, swing or night shift and weekends. Work days and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits. Work up to 12-hours per day.

Shift Flexibility

This is a day shift position, working 6am-6:30pm on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Salary

Starting Salary $24.28/hr
