Town of Westwood is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Fields and Grounds team in the Department of Public Works. The ideal candidate will be technically skilled and safety‑minded, with experience operating heavy equipment and performing field maintenance.

The role includes mowing, grooming, irrigation, turf work, snow response, and assisting road, curb, and sidewalk repairs. It is a full‑time union position with competitive pay and benefits.

Formación

• High School graduate or equivalent with 3 years of public works maintenance experience.
• Proficient in operation and maintenance of a range of heavy equipment.
• Massachusetts Class B CDL and Hoisting Engineer's license required; 2A preferred, 2B and 4G required.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain athletic fields by mowing, grooming, lining infields, irrigation repairs, and turf maintenance.
• Assist with turf practices such as aerating, sod cutting, seeding, and infield clay work.
• Safely operate backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, road sander, and asphalt roller.
• Help with road and sidewalk repairs, pothole patching, curbs, trenches, signs, and brush clearing.
• Respond to snow emergencies and provide on-call service during storms.
