Job summary

ArborMetrics (AMS) is seeking a Work Planner to join the vegetation management team. You will work outdoors, drive to sites, inspect vegetation, and document data using tablets and forestry software, contributing to safety and efficiency on job sites.

The role requires field experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions. Training and certifications support ongoing professional growth in a field-based environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of UVM or related field work experience.
• Knowledge of tree species identification, hazard tree assessment, invasive species management.
• Ability to hike/walk Right-of-Ways (ROWs) and drive for extended periods.
• Knowledgeable about Utility Vegetation Management practices.
• Experience with GIS software/technology as well as Microsoft Suite and an iPhone.
• Must be able to work alone, outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Safely drive to work sites and hike rights-of-way (up to 10 miles/day).
• Inspect and document vegetation work (pruning/removal) at customer properties.
• Record vegetation data using tablets and specialized software.
• Use forestry computer systems for data entry and tracking.
• Address customer concerns and communicate with leadership, clients, and the public.
• Participate in storm and emergency response duties as needed.
