Job summary

UES seeks a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to verify weld quality on complex projects across transportation, energy, and water sectors. You will inspect welded structures at job sites and prepare accurate reports.

You will study drawings, coordinate with fabricators and engineers, travel up to 40%, and uphold safety standards in outdoor and industrial environments while maintaining meticulous records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with welding certificate program.
• AWS or similar welding certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, equipment and safety protocols.
• Flexibility to changing schedules and hours to support business needs.
• Strong math, time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welded structures at job sites and submit accurate reports.
• Study and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and manuals to understand project requirements.
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Collaborate with fabricators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure project quality and specs.
• Communicate with dispatching and field supervisor about current job status and locations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to protect yourself and others in the work environment.
