Job summary

UES is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to ensure quality and integrity of welded structures across field projects. You will inspect welds, interpret drawings, and verify adherence to industry standards and project specs while collaborating with engineers and field teams.

This role involves outdoor, on-site inspections with travel, strong emphasis on safety, documentation, and timely reporting. A welding cert and valid license are required, AWS credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with welding certificate or vocational training.
• AWS or similar welding certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Adaptability to changing schedules; strong time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct welding inspections at job sites in a timely fashion and submit accurate reports.
• Study and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manuals to understand project requirements.
• Operate and maintain a motor vehicle, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Partner with fabricators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure project quality and completion per specifications.
• Communicate status and locations to dispatching or field supervisor; adhere to safety protocols.
