Job summary

Cherokee Millwright in Morristown, TN, seeks a Multi-Craft Field Welder to lay out, weld, install and repair metal components per blueprints and codes. The role spans millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, and civil tasks as needed.

You will work on-site across industrial sites, reading specifications, maintaining safety practices, and assisting in cross-training with other crafts. A high school diploma or GED and 2+ years industrial experience are expected; a forklift license may be

Qualifications

Must be able to pass structural and 6G pipe weld test.
Two+ years of experience with industrial and commercial applications.
Fork Lift license may be required.

Responsibilities

Lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, schematics or work orders.
Use manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.
Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
Perform minor maintenance on equipment.
Observe all standard safety practices and maintain records.
Participate in safety committees or initiatives as required.
Additional skills in other crafts may be necessary to meet customer needs.
