Job summary

American Water is seeking a hands-on Utility Person to perform a variety of tasks in water distribution operations, including inspection, operation, maintenance, and repairs. The role requires PA DOT certification and a valid PA driver’s license, with exposure to weather and electrical hazards.

Qualifications

• GED/High School graduate or equivalent.
• PA DOT Certification required; PA Driver's license required.
• Working knowledge of distribution/collection systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, installs and repairs water distribution including mains, valves, hydrants and service lines and pumping facilities.
• Responds to customer service inquiries including service disruptions and grinder pump issues.
• Investigates complaints and determines corrective action per company procedure.
• Monitors water distribution and SCADA as needed.
