Job summary

Aqua America, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Technician in Marion, Ohio to support operation, maintenance, repair and construction of water distribution facilities.

The role involves work compliant with regulatory requirements for service lines, hydrants, valves, and related components. You will read maps, update system records, and coordinate with customers and internal teams to keep water service reliable and safe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
• CDL-A preferred or required to acquire within bargaining unit timeframe.
• OEPA Class I Distribution License or obtain within bargaining unit timeframe.
• Competent person certification or obtain within specified time period.

Responsibilities

• Maintains equipment at water production facilities and booster stations.
• Operates and maintains water distribution systems including mains, hydrants, and services.
• Completes service work orders and documents activities in the management system.
• Ensures daily work complies with OEPA and PUCO regulatory requirements.
• Reads maps, drawings, and GIS data; performs meter reading and field service tasks.
• Works on multiple projects and communicates status to customers and management.
• May require on-call night and weekend coverage; overtime may be required.
