Job summary

USIC is seeking field locators to identify and mark underground utilities across designated areas in Illinois. You will work independently in a company vehicle, following safety protocols and using ticketing/claims systems to document each locate.

No prior locating experience is required, but a safety mindset and reliability are essential. Training is provided; overtime and on-call shifts are common in this role.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Pass a drug screen and maintain a safe driving record.
• Read and reference locate tickets, maps and prints.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities safely and accurately (telecom, electric, gas, water and sewer).
• Mark locations, complete required documentation and photograph each locate.
• Work daytime, full-time hours with possible overtime and on-call shifts, including weekends.
