Job summary

ArborMetrics seeks a Consulting Utility Forester/Work Planner to perform field vegetation management, patrols, and landowner coordination. You will organize data, assess sites, and apply ISA pruning techniques per client standards while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes independent work in outdoor settings, with company vehicle support and ongoing training for industry certifications. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Experience with GIS software/technology as well as Microsoft Suite and an iPhone.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: Organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits; maintain accurate documentation.
• Field Patrol Duties: Safely patrol energy corridors on foot, identify vegetation for pruning/removal/protection per client standards.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: Use maps to identify property boundaries; communicate work plans to owners and agencies.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: Recommend sustainable strategies using IVM; audit contractor work for compliance.
• Coordination & Safety: Coordinate non-routine work with stakeholders; follow safety protocols and report hazards.
• Additional Responsibilities: Participate in storm and emergency response as needed.
