Job summary

ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to join our outdoor field team in Virginia. The role involves pre-patrol planning, field patrols along energy corridors, and engaging landowners and stakeholders to obtain permissions and coordinate vegetation work.

Strong GIS and communication skills are essential. The position requires an Associate or Bachelor’s in forestry or related fields, plus experience in forestry or arboriculture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in forestry, natural resources or related discipline (education may be required depending on client contract).
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps, and paperwork; review sites for endangered species and habitats.
• Field Patrol Duties: patrol energy corridors, identify vegetation actions per Client standards, conduct Tree Risk Assessments.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: identify property boundaries, communicate plans, obtain permissions, provide customer service.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: recommend IVM strategies, audit contractor work, document outages.
• Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work, report safety concerns and hazards, follow safety protocols.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm/emergency response; perform other duties.
