Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to perform field patrols along energy corridors, assess vegetation risk, and engage with landowners under stringent safety and client standards. The role involves documentation, data collection, and coordination with stakeholders in diverse field environments.

Applicants should have a forestry or natural resources background, GIS familiarity, and a valid driver’s license; bilingual abilities and ISA certification are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred
• Knowledge or practical experience in tree identification
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Experience with GIS software/technology and Microsoft Suite and an iPhone

Responsibilities

• Organize records, maps, and paperwork for patrol circuits; maintain accurate documentation
• Review work sites for endangered species, sensitive habitats, and incompatible vegetation
• Safely patrol energy corridors on foot; identify vegetation for pruning, removal, or protection
• Mark vegetation and prescribe clearance actions per ISA pruning techniques and ANSI standards
• Communicate work plans to property owners and agencies; obtain permissions
• Audit contractor work for compliance with Client specifications
• Investigate tree-related outages and document findings
• Address customer service and internal compliance issues
