Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to support vegetation management for utility corridors. The role emphasizes field patrols, documentation, and safe operations in varied conditions.

You will review sites, engage landowners, and coordinate with contractors, while adhering to safety standards and client specifications. Experience in forestry and GIS is valued, with training offered for certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred; utility line clearance or tree trimming is a plus.
• Knowledge of tree identification and GIS software use; ability to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Review work sites for endangered species, habitats, and vegetation; organize records and maps for patrol circuits.
• Safely patrol energy corridors; identify vegetation for pruning, removal, or protection per client standards; perform Tree Risk Assessments.
• Engage landowners and agencies; obtain permissions; provide professional customer service and foster community relations.
• Coordinate non-routine work with stakeholders; report safety concerns and follow AMS safety protocols.
• Participate in storm and emergency response; perform other duties as assigned.
