Hilcorp Energy Company seeks an Instrumentation/Controls Technician for the North Slope, Alaska. You will maintain and overhaul controls, instrumentation, and PLC logic for gas turbines and associated train systems, and assist with recontrols for OEM and legacy PLC systems.

Role requires hands-on expertise with expensive, complex machinery and computer systems, with leadership in operations integrity and safety practices. On-site, year-round responsibilities are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years minimum experience required in instrumentation maintenance and/or electrical maintenance with a strong controls background.
• Oil and gas field experience preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to work 24 hours per day on call for questions, emergencies, etc.

Responsabilités

• Troubleshoot / repair and perform preventative maintenance on GE Frame 5, Ruston, Sulzer and Rolls Royce gas turbine drivers in power generation, gas compression, and centrifugal pump service.
• Understand and tune anti-surge controls and other PID controllers used in gas compression, power generation, and pump controls.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate and/or replace flow, level, temperature, and pressure transmitters (pneumatic, electronic, smart or analog) instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair alarm and shut down systems in hazardous atmospheres (class 1, division 1&2), including PLCs used for system control; maintain knowledge of PLCs and HMIs, including programming and basic troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and electric control valves of all types.
• Perform work on analytical and environmental monitoring equipment.
• Perform work on power generation systems, gas compression and pump trains by assisting operations, overhaul mechanics, R.E.E.’s and other crafts to solve equipment malfunctions and maintenance issues.
• Complete project work, including control system installation, FCO, drawing as-builts and other documentation.
• Perform Instrumentation work on other rotating equipment.
• Identify current and future Instrumentation/Controls requirements by establishing a working team with management, engineering, production personnel, technicians, and other persons in a position to understand controls requirements.
