Job summary

Hilcorp Energy Company seeks an Instrument/Turbine Technician for the North Slope, responsible for maintaining and overhauling controls, instrumentation and PLC logic on gas turbines and compressor trains. The role includes assisting with recontrols for OEM and legacy PLC systems to ensure a safe, reliable operating environment.

You will troubleshoot, calibrate and repair instrumentation and control devices, work with DCS/SCADA systems, and coordinate with operations and field crews to complete

Qualifications

• Five years minimum experience in instrumentation maintenance or electrical maintenance with a strong controls background.
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and oral instructions.
• Willingness to be on-call 24 hours for emergencies.
• Strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on gas turbine drivers (GE Frame 5, Ruston, Sulzer, Rolls Royce) in power generation, gas compression and pump service.
• Tune anti-surge controls and PID controllers used in gas compression and power generation.
• Calibrate and repair flow, level, temperature, and pressure transmitters (pneumatic, electronic, smart).
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLCs and HMIs; basic programming and troubleshooting.
• Work on valves (hydraulic, pneumatic, electric) and other control components; support shut-down systems in hazardous areas.
• Support power generation systems and turbine-related equipment; collaborate with operations and R.E.E.'s.
