Job summary

Syngenta Crop Protection in New York is seeking an R&D Scientist 1 to lead field research trials for crop protection across diverse crops. You will design efficacy studies, collect high-quality data, and analyze results to advance products and label expansion.

The role requires collaboration with universities and CROs, plus delivering technical training and documentation to support positioning and regulatory labeling initiatives.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Weed Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Nematology, or related Agricultural Science required; Ph.D. preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with MS or 3 years with Ph.D. in agricultural research.
• Experience conducting field efficacy trials evaluating insect, weed, disease control products, biologicals, and related technologies.
• Strong knowledge of agronomy, crop production systems, and agricultural research methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage field research trials focused on crop protection across multiple crops.
• Design, implement, and oversee internal and external efficacy trials with high-quality data collection.
• Analyze research results and provide technical recommendations to drive product advancement.
• Collaborate with universities, extension partners, and contract research organizations.
• Provide technical expertise through training, demonstrations, and scientific documentation.
