Job summary

The Arthur Companies, Inc. seeks a Research Associate to join a growing wheat breeding program. You will conduct field, laboratory, and greenhouse research, plan and execute trials, collect data, and report results to stakeholders.

A strong background in plant breeding, agronomy, and data analysis is essential, with collaboration across business units and possible travel to research sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
• 1–3+ years in agricultural research or field trials preferred.
• CDL with medical card or the ability to obtain one.
• Pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, package and plant field trials to evaluate crop/product performance.
• Assist in maintaining research locations through herbicide application and agronomic practices.
• Collect data on plant growth, disease reactions, yield, hand harvest and quality samples.
• Manage temporary contract workers for time-sensitive duties.
• Grow plants in a greenhouse/growth facility for crossing and increases.
