Job summary

Corteva Agriscience seeks a hands-on Research Associate to build field research capabilities in the Indianapolis area. The role supports high-quality, multi-crop field trials from setup through harvest and closeout, working with scientists, agronomy colleagues, and technical partners to execute protocols and ensure safe, efficient field operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or at least five years of directly related agricultural research experience.
Experience conducting applied agricultural field trials and field activities such as planting, treatment application, crop maintenance, assessment, sampling, and harvest.
Ability to work with minimal guidance, analyze results, and make evidence-based recommendations.
Valid driver’s license and ability to work safely in outdoor agricultural conditions, including seasonal demands.
Indiana Commercial Applicator License, Category 10 Research and Demonstration at minimum, or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

Help plan and conduct field research trials, including site preparation, planting, treatment, maintenance, sampling, harvest, and closeout.
Conduct experiments and complex technical operations with minimal guidance.
Optimize methodologies and recommend additional experiments or alternative approaches.
Interpret results, troubleshoot issues, and propose next steps.
Support data collection, quality checks, and organize field data for summaries and reports.
Operate, transport, maintain, and troubleshoot agricultural equipment used for application, planting, and data collection.
Coordinate day-to-day field activities with scientists, agronomy colleagues, seasonal staff, interns, and contractors.
Promote safety, data integrity, and continuous improvement across field operations.
Support field demonstrations, tours, and stakeholder engagement.
