The Arthur Companies in Arkansas is seeking a Research Associate to join our wheat breeding program. This role involves field, greenhouse, and laboratory research, data collection, and collaboration with contract researchers to advance product testing and agronomy studies.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s or Master’s in agronomy or related field, 1–3+ years of agricultural research experience, and ability to operate field equipment, with strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Science, or related field
• 1-3+ years of experience in agricultural research or field trials preferred
• CDL with med card is required or obtainable
• Pesticide applicator license is required or obtainable
• Ability to operate a forklift

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and plant field trials to evaluate crop performance.
• Maintain research locations with herbicide applications and agronomic practices.
• Collect data on plant growth, disease reactions, and yield; hand harvest and sample prep.
• Coordinate with temporary contract workers for time-sensitive tasks.
• Grow plants in greenhouse/growth facilities for crossing and increases.
