Job summary

The Arthur Companies is seeking a Research Associate to join our growing wheat breeding and contract research program in Fargo, ND. You will design and conduct field trials, collect data, and support greenhouse work while coordinating temporary staff.

Ideal candidates have a strong agronomy background, experience with data analysis, and the ability to work with multiple business units. This role involves fieldwork, regulatory compliance, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Science, or related field
• 1–3+ years of experience in agricultural research or field trials preferred
• CDL with a med card or ability to obtain
• Pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain
• Forklift operation ability

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, package and plant field trials to evaluate crop/product performance
• Assist in maintaining research locations through herbicide application and agronomic practices
• Collect data on plant growth, disease reactions, yield, hand harvest and quality sample preparation
• Work with and manage temporary contract workers to assist in busy, time-sensitive duties
• Assist in growing plants in a greenhouse/growth facility for crossing and increases
• Use statistical software and analytical tools to analyze experiment results
• Provide recommendations for product advancement and practical applications to stakeholders
