Sungrow North America is seeking a Transformer Engineer for the Service Department, based in Houston, TX. You will apply electrical engineering theory to medium voltage transformers, perform design reviews, perform diagnostics, troubleshoot faults, and prepare RCA reports to improve equipment performance.

The role requires strong communication, independent work capability, and the ability to train field staff while coordinating with HQ and OEMs. Travel up to 50% is expected in this position.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Experience with transformer systems and MV transformers is preferred.
• Ability to perform diagnostics, testing, and root cause analysis in field and workshop settings.

Aufgaben

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and analyze transformers and components in the field.
• Perform testing per IEEE, NETA, NEC, and UL standards.
• Review designs, schematics, and equipment with engineering teams to determine improvements.
• Prepare reports detailing tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Coordinate with HQ and OEMs to address design issues and apply RCA techniques.
• Provide on-job training to team members and maintain client relationships.
