Sungrow North America is seeking a Transformer Engineer to join the Service Department in Houston, TX. The role focuses on applying electrical engineering principles to transformer design reviews, diagnostics, and RCA reporting, with significant fieldwork and customer interaction.

The position requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 3+ years in transformer experience, and travel up to 50%. Hybrid work arrangement based in Houston, with compensation in the $100k–$120k range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years experience with liquid-filled and/or dry-type transformers.
• Experience with Power Factor, Insulation Resistance, and Dissolved Gas Analysis testing.
• Strong problem solving, analytical skills and ability to communicate clearly.

Responsabilités

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and analyze transformers and components in the field.
• Apply IEEE, NETA, NEC, and UL standards for testing and safety procedures.
• Consult manuals, schematics and engineering personnel to diagnose problems and determine optimum operation.
• Prepare and maintain reports of tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
• Coordinate with HQ and OEMs to investigate design issues and perform RCA reports.
• Provide on-job training to other team members.
• Maintain strong client relationships and demonstrate safe work practices.
• Train Field Service employees on processes and procedures.
