Job summary

Core & Main is seeking a field-based Operations & Training Specialist to support onboarding, training, and operational excellence for associates across branches. You will coach, train, and drive adoption of ERP and related platforms, delivering hands-on support at locations and via virtual sessions.

Collaborating with branch and regional leadership, you will identify opportunities to improve performance, track progress, and ensure adherence to company standards and best practices while traveling

Qualifications

• 3+ years at Core & Main in a sales-focused or support role.
• Ability to analyze performance data to identify gaps and drive improvements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and collaboration platforms (Teams/SharePoint).
• Ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions without immediate direction.
• Ability to manage deadlines, multi-task, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cohesively with stakeholders and trainees.
• Must motivate and hold groups of individuals accountable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on training, coaching, and development for ISRs and other operational staff.
• Support new hire onboarding and accelerate productivity through structured programs.
• Drive adoption of ERP and operational technology platforms.
• Partner with branch/region leaders to identify training opportunities and close knowledge gaps.
• Assist with warehouse operations training and reinforce best practices.
• Conduct branch visits to observe workflows, provide coaching, and recommend improvements.
• Facilitate classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions as needed.
• Support change management and initiatives related to processes and systems.
• Collaborate to align regional training with enterprise learning strategies.
• Track progress and provide feedback to leadership on performance improvements.
