Job summary

Subaru of America seeks a senior trainer to manage the localized technical training program and its Area Training Center (ATC). You will develop technicians across tenure and skill levels through structured delivery, validation, and ongoing development aligned to Subaru and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent automotive experience required.
• 6-8 years of experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform vehicle repairs in a shop setting safely.
• Hands-on automotive repair and diagnostic expertise.
• Strong organization, planning, and time management skills.
• ASE Certifications (A1–A8; L1, L3; L4) required.
• Ability to multi-task across physical and digital work.

Responsibilities

• Delivers high-quality technical training for retailer technicians and internal staff across a broad curriculum.
• Provides assessments and evaluations of students during course delivery.
• Educates and promotes Subaru Technical Training programs and initiatives to retailers and field staff.
• Plans and manages ATC operational and administrative needs and metrics.
• Implements ATC policies to ensure consistent retailer experience.
• Identifies and resolves ATC opportunities and feedback.
• Maintains ATC facilities and assets to Subaru standards.
• Leads ATC/Zone projects and participates in national training events.
• Builds relationships with industry and community organizations.
• Represents SOA in the automotive community through associations and advisory boards.
