Job summary

Steak ’n Shake is seeking a Field Training Manager to elevate performance across franchisee and company restaurants. Reporting to the VP of Training, this role drives training excellence, strengthens multi-unit capability, and ensures disciplined restaurant certification standards in assigned markets.

The position focuses on leading market-based training, coaching leadership, and overseeing instructor-led programs, with significant travel to franchise markets and ongoing collaboration with FBAs

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive restaurant operations experience.
• Minimum 2 years of multi-unit training leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading restaurant training initiatives, coaching managers, and driving measurable operational improvements.
• Demonstrated ability to assess performance, analyze data, and implement structured improvement plans.
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills with experience teaching or leading structured training programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead Market-Based Training Execution across franchise and company markets.
• Coach & develop restaurant leadership through structured assessments and development days.
• Facilitate instructor-led training, 2–3 classes per month, and oversee food safety training certification.
• Manage training restaurant certification standards, auditing and validating training locations.
• Support new restaurant openings with onboarding and training initiatives.
