ECS Limited in Roanoke is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to support field observations and routine testing under supervision. You will collect data, document site conditions, and assist with testing activities while developing foundational skills in construction practices with a customer-focused attitude.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain basic certifications per ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS.
• Good communication skills (verbal, written, reading).
• Dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented work ethic.
• Basic math skills and data entry ability.
• Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret plans.
• Basic proficiency with electronic devices (tablets/phones/laptops).

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
• Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports.
• Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
