Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Roanoke team. This role is primarily field-based, collecting data, documenting site conditions, and assisting with testing activities under direct supervision.

No experience is required; paid training is provided and we cover certification fees. The position emphasizes learning on the job and developing foundational technical skills in construction practices within ECS Core Values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Obtain basic certifications applicable to the work performed as per the ECS Technician Certification Policy.
• Valid driver\'s license if driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary.

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
• Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports.
• Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Performs other field and project support duties as assigned.
