Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH company, is seeking a Technical Services Field Testing Technician to perform inspection, sampling, and testing of ready-mix concrete and aggregates at our plants. You will document results, maintain QA/QC records, and support mix design evaluations.

Travel to job sites as needed; coordinate with plant managers, DOT personnel, and suppliers; uphold safety standards and DOT/ACI certifications; contribute to waste reduction and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• ACI Field Grade I Testing Technician
• ACI Aggregate or Laboratory Certification; NRMCA Certification is a plus
• Experience in the collection, testing and reporting of concrete and/or aggregate samples.
• Must obtain and maintain DOT certifications required to test concrete as required by state regulations.
• Less than one year of experience in a related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety and maintain a clean work area.
• Inspect, sample, and test materials for quality control.
• Sample and test mixtures to meet specifications.
• Follow quality control plans and guidelines.
• Ensure proper mix design and batch weights at plants.
• Perform physical tests on ready-mix concrete (slump, air, unit weight, yield, setting time, compressive strength).
• Conduct on-site surveys of fleets and facilities to identify delivery issues and suggest solutions.
• Maintain QA/QC databases and write inspection reports as needed.
