Job summary

Blue River Technology in North Carolina is seeking an experienced test engineer to design and run comprehensive test plans for safety and performance of autonomous machines. You will perform live field testing, log diagnostics on embedded systems, and maintain the health of our autonomous test fleet.

You will document results, report hardware or software issues to the core engineering team, and communicate clearly during on-site customer testing and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Proven background in hands-on testing, validation, and system verification.
• Comfortable working with physical hardware, wiring, and mechanical components.
• Exceptional technical communication skills, bridging field realities and software development.
• Experience with Linux command line, diagnostics, and log analysis on embedded systems.
• Rigorous mindset focused on safety and risk mitigation in autonomous operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize test plans to verify machine safety and performance.
• Conduct live in-field testing and troubleshooting of autonomous mowers.
• Parse logs and diagnose software environments using Linux.
• Maintain health and calibration of the autonomous test fleet.
• Document test results, bugs, and hardware anomalies for engineers.
