RFA Engineering is hiring a Software Test Engineer to validate and test advanced software and ECUs used in agricultural equipment. The role is hands-on, involving field testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration with software and systems teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical/Software Engineering or STEM field.
• Experience with Python and/or C++ programming.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems including software, electronics, sensors, and mechanics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and drive as required.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in the field.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute field validation and testing activities for agricultural software and ECUs.
• Operate and evaluate equipment in real-world agricultural environments.
• Troubleshoot software, hardware, electrical, and mechanical issues during testing.
• Collect, analyze, and document test data to identify defects and improvement areas.
• Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and test teams to diagnose issues.
• Develop and execute test plans, test procedures, and validation reports.
• Verify software functionality against system requirements.
• Utilize tools and scripting to automate testing and data analysis.
• Support prototype builds, installations, and system configuration.
• Document test results and recommendations clearly.
• Travel to customer sites, proving grounds, and farms as required.
• Maintain safety during testing with agricultural machinery.
