Job summary

Astound is seeking an Outside Plant Technician to maintain and repair aerial and underground coax and fiber infrastructure in outdoor settings. You will work outdoors using bucket trucks and ladders to restore service, perform preventative maintenance, and support network reliability in Massachusetts.

This hands-on role includes outage detection, 24/7 on-call rotation, documentation, and installation or repair of cabling, with emphasis on safety, teamwork and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years hands-on telecom field work.
• Valid drivers license.
• Ability to read and interpret maps.
• Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Bucket certified.
• Strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Restore service and perform preventative maintenance on coax and fiber.
• Operate bucket trucks, ladders, and field equipment.
• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve outages.
• Complete documentation such as work orders and logs.
• Support 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Install and repair coaxial and fiber cabling (aerial and buried).
