Job summary

Astound Broadband is seeking a Broadband Network Technician I to perform hands-on field work maintaining and repairing aerial and underground coax and fiber networks. The role involves outdoor work using bucket trucks, ladders, and hand tools to restore service and ensure network reliability.

You will detect and troubleshoot outages for data, video, and voice, participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, and complete required work orders and logs.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in telecom field work, cabling, construction, or utilities (coax, fiber, or electrical)
• Maintain satisfactory driving record and have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages for data, video, and telephone.
• Emergency restoration of coax, underground cable, maintenance of power supply, leakage and splicing.
• Maintain documentation such as work orders and daily logs.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Install, replace, and repair coaxial and fiber optic cabling, including aerial and buried plant.
• Perform pole transfers, span replacements, and drop repairs.
• Operate bucket trucks, ladders, and field equipment.
• Observe and assist coworkers with fiber splicing activities.
