- Conduct field assessments of vegetation conditions near Transmission and Distribution circuits
- Develop site-specific vegetation maintenance prescriptions for Transmission and Distribution projects
- Patrol power line rights-of-way and document vegetation conditions
- Recommend remedial actions
- Identify, document, and mark danger trees and vegetation hazards
- Notify property owners of planned vegetation maintenance work and negotiate permission for required vegetation control
- Support general foremen and vegetation maintenance crews in clarifying prescribed work
- Perform post-work quality inspections
- Conduct contractor safety oversight and inspections
- Follow safety, operational, company, and regulatory procedures
- Participate in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills
- Provide field-level oversight, operational support, work verification, quality audits, contractor coordination, outage investigations, customer support, field documentation, and data quality assurance
- Perform additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications
Requirements
- Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Biology, or Agronomy
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of 5 years of experience performing similar functions may substitute for required education
- 1–3 years of experience in vegetation management, natural resources, field operations, arboriculture, or environmental work
- Familiarity with vegetation management processes and vegetation maintenance practices
- Ability to work independently in a self-directed, field-based environment
- Excellent customer communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and professionally with property owners
- Comfort and proficiency using field-enabled technology and digital tools
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to perform required physical activities and work in outdoor, wet or humid conditions, near heavy machinery, moving mechanical parts, electricity, high places, fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise
- Ability to travel 20%
