Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dedicated field vegetation specialist to support Transmission and Distribution projects. You will conduct assessments, develop prescriptions, patrol rights-of-way, and document vegetation conditions while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in vegetation management or related fields, with a technical diploma or equivalent background and a valid driver's license. Travel up to 20% is required.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or associate degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences, Biology, or Agronomy.
• High School diploma or GED with at least 5 years of related experience may substitute for the degree.
• 1–3 years of vegetation management or related field experience.
• Familiarity with vegetation management processes and practices.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field assessments of vegetation near Transmission and Distribution circuits.
• Develop site-specific vegetation maintenance prescriptions for Transmission and Distribution projects.
• Patrol power line rights-of-way and document vegetation conditions.
• Identify, document, and mark danger trees and vegetation hazards.
• Notify property owners of planned vegetation maintenance work and negotiate permission for required vegetation control.
• Support general foremen and vegetation maintenance crews in clarifying prescribed work.
• Perform post-work quality inspections.
• Conduct contractor safety oversight and inspections.
• Follow safety, operational, company, and regulatory compliance procedures.
• Participate in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills.
• Perform additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications.

• Excellent customer communication skills for engaging with property owners
• Proficiency using field-enabled technology and digital tools for vegetation assessments and documentation
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to travel 20%
