Job summary

Orange County Utilities is seeking qualified individuals for Field Specialist Trainee/I/II/III to support field crew repairs and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater systems. Work is performed in the field with no remote option, typically during normal business hours with occasional after-hours work.

Open to multiple levels; requires high school diploma, CDL-related qualifications, and industry certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet Utilities' Health and Safety Manual requirements.
• CDL involvement or endorsement may be required depending on assignment.
• On-the-job CDL training provided by Orange County.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled technical field work in operation and maintenance of underground piping and pumping facilities.
• Assist in repairs, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance of wastewater/water systems.
• Engage in field operations including heavy equipment, valve, meter and hydrant operation and maintenance.
