Job summary

Clearwater Solutions is seeking a Field Technician I to support data collection and maintenance of water and wastewater systems in McCormick County, SC. The role emphasizes on-site fieldwork; you will collect readings from residential and commercial locations and assist with work orders.

You'll operate a company vehicle, respond to readings, and perform basic landscape tasks as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
• Entry-level, 1+ years' experience in water/wastewater/public works preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work independently.
• Ability to understand water systems and concepts.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform sustained physical labor, including heavy lifting and working above your head and below your feet.

Responsibilities

• Review service orders to determine locations where meter readings need to be performed.
• Read water meters and enter data in route logs.
• Maintains required paperwork and logs in compliance with Federal, State and local rules and regulations.
• Inspect meters and connections to determine defects, faults and damages.
• Under direct supervision, repairs and/or replaces broken water mains and service lines, maintains& assists with minor repairs of the water/ wastewater systems.
• Communicate problems with meters or incorrect readings to the Project Manager.
• Operates a company vehicle to conduct meter readings for assigned route.
• Connect and disconnect utility services as directed.
• Ensure that all data in the utility log book is maintained correctly, and kept updated.
• Perform general landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, clean-ups, pruning, and other typical landscape maintenance tasks.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

• Ability to perform sustained physical labor, including heavy lifting and working above your head and below your feet
• Neat and clean in appearance, courteous and friendly with the general public and willing to be a part of a team
• Must be available to work overtime and ‘on-call’ as needed
