Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent, L.P. is seeking a Field Technician Turn to expedite tenant turnover and uphold property quality across a portfolio of single-family units in Schaumburg, IL. This role performs tenant turns, inspections, and contractor coordination to maintain high standards.

The position requires hands-on skills with tools, HVAC familiarity, and the ability to lift heavy items and work with ladders. A valid driver's license and OSHA knowledge help ensure safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Experience in residential/property maintenance is required, or five years in lieu of education.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and basic safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property inventory through tenant turns and inspections.
• Coordinate move-outs, key exchanges, and report completion.
• Inspect contractor work to ensure it meets standards.
• Provide plumbing, electrical, garage door, irrigation troubleshooting.
• Perform self-work at properties using tools and ladders following guidelines.
• Attend eviction set outs/hearings as needed.
• Uphold safety and OSHA guidelines at all times.
