Job summary

American Homes 4 Rent is seeking a Field Technician Maintenance in Plainfield, IL to perform a range of repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks across AMH properties. You will handle water heaters, plumbing, electrical issues, HVAC tune-ups, and general carpentry, while maintaining safety and orderliness.

The role requires a valid driver's license, OSHA knowledge, and experience in residential maintenance. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with a technical certification a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Associate degree or technical training certification is a plus.
• EPA Certification or HVAC Type II Certification required in applicable states.

Responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting support for water heater, plumbing, garage door, irrigation, and electrical issues.
• Perform repairs including carpentry, drywall, roofing, and fencing tasks.
• Ensure HVAC systems are operational and perform tune-ups.
• Update and complete mobile work orders within the given timeframe.
• Engage with vendors and tenants regularly.
