Job summary

ECS Midwest, LLC is seeking a field technician in construction materials testing (CMT) to perform field observations, sample soils, aggregates and concrete under supervision. The role is primarily field-based and focused on data collection, site condition documentation, and assisting with testing activities.

No prior experience required; paid training and certification fees are provided. You will develop foundational technical skills, work with supervisors and clients, and uphold ECS Core Values

Qualifications

• Good communication skills (verbal, written) required.
• Dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented work ethic.
• Basic math skills and data entry ability.
• Ability to read maps, follow directions and interpret plans (developing).

Responsibilities

• Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision.
• Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites.
• Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors.
• Assists in preparing and submitting daily field reports.
• Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results.
• Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
