Job summary

Chartis Federal is seeking a Field Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, fault isolation, and sustainment support for U.S. Customs and Border Protection's mobile surveillance systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain LRUs, LMR equipment, and associated C2 systems to keep operations available.

Travel up to 25% locally/regionally, lifting heavy components, and working in field environments. Candidates must be U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in tactical communications installation and integration, electronic systems repair, mobile surveillance system maintenance, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and design, or equivalent.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license; required to travel to repair sites.
• Ability to lift objects over 50 lbs., climb ladders and mobile systems, and work in outdoor/field conditions including extreme weather.
• U.S. citizenship required; background checks and DHS security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, fault isolation, and removal/replacement of LRUs on mobile surveillance, tower, and sensor network systems.
• Troubleshoot and restore proprietary system software to full operational capability.
• Assist Sector Fleet with recovery of surveillance systems and equipment mounted on disabled trucks.
• Operate within CBP sustainment facilities, managing forward-deployed spares; document actions in ILSS/Maximo.
• Support installation, testing, programming, and troubleshooting of LMR and tactical communications equipment.
• Travel locally/regionally up to 25% within the assigned area of operation.
