Field Technician (Mechanic) - Core Solutions

Join to apply for the Field Technician (Mechanic) - Core Solutions role at EquipmentShare.

EquipmentShare is hiring a Field Technician (Mechanic) at our Birmingham, AL location. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and aerial lifts, working with the latest industry fleet.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. Weekend on-call in specific cases.

Primary Responsibilities

• Practice safe repair practices.
• Operate laptops and tablets comfortably.
• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on various equipment, using independent judgment.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians.
• Keep accurate electronic and paper documentation of work.
• Assist with equipment and parts transportation.
• Understand OSHA requirements (preferred).
• Travel to customer sites for repairs when needed; maintain a clean service vehicle.
• Participate in OEM training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Own tools relevant to the role
• Strong mechanical skills and tool knowledge
• Knowledge of construction equipment, schematics, and diagrams

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or trade certificate preferred
• Experience in field service preferred
• Valid driver’s license; must be 21+ to operate company vehicle

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• May require clean-shaven appearance for site access
• Contingent on passing drug screening
