Job Summary:

This position is responsible for repairing construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical reports, warranty reporting, maintaining company assets, and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities:

1. Repair equipment and components, including:

• Developing a repair plan and sequence
• Determining necessary parts, materials, tooling, etc.
• Performing repairs properly and safely, with quality assurance testing of the repair components, systems, and machines

• Maintain and complete reports for parts ordering, tooling usage, daily service, and work order closure in a timely manner and legibly
• Communicate repair progress with supervisor as required
• Order and return parts and materials through the company's parts system
• Handle special tools and maintain proper care, including major shop equipment such as air compressors, cleaning tanks, and cranes
• Use company vehicle, service truck, and fuel cards responsibly
• Keep work area and service vehicle safe and clean
• Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and updated manner
• Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager

Education, Experience, and Skills:

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. An Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four years of apprenticeship experience is preferred. Technician classification depends on experience, knowledge, and competence.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and use hands for handling or feeling. Also required are reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Work frequently involves exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather, extreme cold/heat, and vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud.
